Fans of "The Lord of the Rings" and "The Chronicles of Narnia" can get a firsthand look at the costume-making magic of New Zealand's WETA Workshop from one of its design experts.
Armor- and costume-design expert Matt Appleton of the WETA Workshop will be in Hawai'i to provide insight on his behind-the-scenes experiences working on the blockbuster "Lord of the Rings" movies and the newly released film "The Chronicles of Narnia."
Appleton helped design costumes for the Elvish and Orc armies in "The Lord of the Rings." At the workshop, he will talk about what it was like to create armor and costumes for the "Lord of the Rings" and "Chronicles of Narnia" films.
Appleton will also bring samples of costumes used in the films, which an audience member may get a chance to model. The seminar, sponsored by Concierge Services at Ward, Logos Bookstore, Air New Zealand and Business & Leisure Travel, will conclude with a question-and-answer session.
