HPU clinches PacWest title

Barbara Martin hammered 20 kills as No. 2 Hawai'i Pacific clinched the Pacific West Conference title with a 30-24, 30-27, 30-25 victory over Chaminade last night at Blaisdell Arena.
Flavia Brakling added 12 kills and 14 digs, and Paula Koikopoulos had 10 kills for the Sea Warriors, who improved to 22-1 overall and 10-0 in the PacWest.
"I'm glad we came out tonight and started the game a little more focused," said HPU coach Tita Ahuna.
Christina Williams had 15 kills for the Silverswords (9-14, 0-10).
