Ross Klein, international authority on cruise ship issues and author of the books, "Cruise Ship Blues," and "Cruise Ship Squeeze: The New Pirates of the Seven Seas," will speak at 7 p.m. tonight at the Kea'au Community Center on the Big Island; and 2:30 p.m. tomorrow to the Hawai'i County Council, Environmental Committee, at the Hawai'i County Building, 25 Aupuni St., Hilo. Past and current deans of the University of Hawai'i John A. Burns School of Medicine will take part in a panel discussion next week on some of the projects being planned for the Kaka'ako redevelopment area. Speaking at the panel discussion and networking conference, "FINDING YOUR FUTURE @ KB (Kaka'ako Biotech) Park," will be former dean Ed Cadman and current interim dean Sam Shomaker. Honolulu Police Detective John McCarthy will speak on "THE BUSINESS IMPACT OF IDENTITY THEFT" Thursday at a meeting of the Association of Records Managers and Administrators. McCarthy acting lieutenant in charge of burglary/theft for Kailua/Kane'ohe/Kahuku, is an instructor in identity theft training, and a member of the Anti-Phishing Working Group. Several business MICRO ENTERPRISE TRAINING CLASSES, sponsored by the Honolulu Community Action Program, will be offered this month, free to those with limited income.
