LAHAINA, Maui — Sophomore forward C.J. Giles scored a career-high 21 points and Kansas handed host Chaminade its worst loss in this tournament, 102-54, yesterday to claim seventh place in the Maui Invitational.
Giles tied a school record by making all nine of his shots in the first half as the Jayhawks (2-2) took a 46-29 lead. They went on a 26-2 run to go up 82-39 with 7:04 left.
Dylan McCune had 17 points for Chaminade, a Division II school from Honolulu that has a 4-60 record in the tournament. The previous worst loss was 108-61 to Boston College in the opening round in 1993.
Chaminade's last win was 52-49 over Villanova in the opening round in 2003.

Ekene Ibekwe had 16 points, Chris McCray added 15, and the Terrapins' (3-1) reserves scored 20 points in the second half to hold off the Razorbacks (2-2) for fifth place in the Maui Invitational.
Arkansas (2-2) trailed 53-50 with 6:39 left after a rebound basket by Darian Townes, but Ibweke hit two free throws 20 seconds later — the last points scored by a Maryland starter — to start a 13-3 run that gave the Terrapins control.
