HPU routs Ursuline

Piikea Dudoit had nine kills, and Barbara Martin and Flavia Brakling each added seven to lift fourth-ranked Hawai'i Pacific to a 30-21, 30-8, 30-20 victory over Ursuline (Ohio) College in a volleyball match last night at St. Andrew's Priory.

HPU (15-1) hosts Pacific West Conference rival Hawai'i-Hilo on Friday and Saturday. Ursuline is 9-12.


GOLF

UH-HILO WOMEN FIFTH

Kristen Higa shot a 5-over-par 78 yesterday to finish fifth and lead the University of Hawai'i-Hilo women to a sixth-place finish in the Western Washington Invitational at Bellingham Golf and Country Club.

UH-Hilo's men finished eighth in the 12-team Chico State/Wells Fargo Men's Invitational at Butte Creek Country Club in Chico, Calif.

WRESTLING

CLINIC SET FOR MOANALUA

United States national women's coach Terry Steiner and 2004 Olympic silver medalist Sara McMann will be holding a wrestling clinic Nov. 10 to 13 at Moanalua High.

The clinic is open to males and females of all ages.

The clinic hours are 6 to 9 p.m. Nov. 10; 2 to 6 p.m. Nov. 11; 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 2 to 4 p.m. Nov. 12; and 1 to 5 p.m. Nov. 13.

Cost is $75, which includes a USA Wrestling membership and a lunch on Saturday.

Steiner, a 1993 NCAA champion for Iowa, coached the U.S. women's Olympic team. McMann is ranked first in the 63 kg (138.75 pounds) by Team USA. She also won a bronze medal at the 2005 World Championships and a gold at the 2003 Pan American Games.
