Hawai'i, UNLV adding football games

The University of Hawai'i and Nevada-Las Vegas football teams are finalizing an arrangement that will add "six to eight" more games to their series, UH athletic director Herman Frazier told The Advertiser yesterday.
The teams are scheduled to meet at Aloha Stadium next year and at Sam Boyd Stadium in 2007.
Under terms of the proposal, the added games will be split between being played in Hawai'i and Las Vegas.
The extension "makes a lot of sense," UH coach June Jones said. "I like the fact that the people of Hawai'i like to go to Vegas. We always have a lot of fans there for us, just like we do when we go to San Jose. This is good for our team and for our fans."
Frazier also said UH and Washington are "very, very, very close" to finalizing a game between the teams next year. Frazier met with Washington officials Sunday in Dallas.
