The Honolulu Symphony's Halekulani MasterWorks series continues with "Joyful Moments," a celebration of Chaminade University's 50th anniversary. With Mark Votapek on principal cello, the program includes works by Shostakovich, Sibelius and Tan Dun. Alexander Mickelthwate conducts. Tickets: $20, $30, $47, $57 and $70.

What is Mae? Find out for yourself as Bamp Project presents this indie-rock band of "Suspension" fame. The fivesome travels this way from Virginia as part of its fall tour, sharing its reflective lyrics and passionate rhythms. Also performing that night will be Pennylane and Warsaw Poland Bros. Tickets are $25, for 21 and older.

The Aloha Festivals merrymaking continues with the annual falsetto concert returning to the Monarch Room after an 11-year break. The evening will also pay tribute to Mahi Beamer, the late Bill Ali'iloa Lincoln and the late Joe Keawe, who will be inducted to the Falsetto Hall of Fame. Harry B. Soria and Karen Keawehawai'i are emcees. Tickets are $40 general seating, $55 premier seating, with a $5 discount for in-person orders with a 2005 Aloha Festivals ribbon. Doors open at 6 p.m.

The Burger King Get Down Session is a phat party with two stages featuring the talents of Natural Vibrations, Fiji, Molino, Koa'uka and two DJs from Los Angeles. Tickets are $20, or free by redeeming a properly filled out Burger King "Get Down Session" punch card (by purchasing certain meals) from participating restaurants.

Hip-hop sensation Common is coming this way with the lyrical grooves and nimble rhymes that have garnered critical praise on albums such as "Be," "Resurrection," "Like Water for Chocolate" and "Electric Circus." Ticket details to be announced for this 18-and-older concert.

Grammy- and Oscar-nominated contemporary singer-songwriter Aimee Mann's introspective tunes and writing skills have earned her numerous accolades across the board. Her latest album, "The Forgotten Arm," is a narrative set to song, telling the story of two lovers who journey across the U.S. Tickets are $30-$35.

Legendary pop/rock '70s duo Kenny Loggins and Jim Messina team up once more for "Sittin' In Again." Their roster of unforgettable hits include "Your Mama Don't Dance," "House at Pooh Corner" and "Sailin' The Wind." Tickets are $45 and $65.

Head for the Windward side "Some Enchanted Evening" to take in the Rodgers & Hammerstein musical, "South Pacific." Two love stories set in World War II intertwine as a Navy nurse falls in love with a French planter, and a lieutenant becomes enamored with a young Polynesian girl. Steve Wagenseller, Sonya Mendez, Tony Young and Maryn Good star, and Ron Bright directs. Tickets are $26 general, $22 military and those 62 and older, and $18 children and students.
