TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE

"Joey" season opener, 7 p.m., NBC. After an OK first season, this comedy is trying to remake itself. That starts with Joey and his attractive landlady waking up together. Soon, his sister is landing a job with his agent. There's also a scheme that's similar to the David Spade movie "Lost & Found." Joey will steal a director's dog so he can bring it back and get an audition.

OF NOTE

"Dancing With the Stars: Dance Off," 7 and 8 p.m., ABC. Tonight, we learn who won the rematch between Kelly Monaco and John O'Hurley.

"The O.C.," 7 p.m., Fox. Seth and Summer are expected to join the drama club, which seems logical, considering their high-drama lives. Meanwhile, Ryan and Marissa find that their families want them to break up.

"CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" season opener, 8 p.m., CBS. Things start with the team probing five murders.

"The Apprentice" season opener, 8 p.m., NBC. The 18 contestants gather at Trump National Golf Course. Soon, they're creating a class for a fitness club.

"ER" season opener, 9 p.m., NBC. As last season ended, Sam (Linda Cardellini) feared that her son had gone in search of his father. That's dangerous because he's a diabetic who left his insulin. She and Luka search for him. Meanwhile, Ray and Neela are in charge of a fresh group of interns.

"Criminal Minds" debut, 9 p.m., CBS. This could easily turn into a fine series. It has a great actor (Mandy Patinkin) playing a brilliant and troubled criminologist. However, for this week, it's best to skip it. The episode has a young woman being brutally confined. That's a TV trend that has been rampant lately.
