ISLAND LIFE SHORTS
Help guide museum tours

Advertiser Staff

The Bishop Museum's Science Adventure Center is looking for a few good volunteers. Sign up, and you'll learn about Hawai'i's natural and cultural history — and how to share the same with adventure center visitors. A five-week training session begins April 18, 2-4 p.m., continuing Tuesdays and Thursdays through May 18. Volunteers will then be scheduled for a weekly four-hour shift. Volunteers must be 15 or older. Call 848-4168 or e-mail education@bishopmuseum.org.

HAPPENING

HANG THE DJ!

There'll be panic on the streets of London tonight when former Smiths bassist Andy Rourke spins three decades worth of Brit-pop at NextDoor. Beg him, and Rourke may even queue "Panic" so the clueless know why. The man who rocked the bass line in "How Soon Is Now?" will spin his fave tunes from "Joy Division" to "Arcade Fire." Bring a copy of "Meat is Murder" and a pen. Doors open at 9 p.m.; www.whoisnextdoor.com.

FINAL WORD

"I have a little fantasy where in the last episode of the season, we slip into the prison's sewer systems, up through these grates, and pop out a hatch — and we're face-to-face with Matthew Fox, and we spend Season 2 on a tropical beach."

Wentworth Miller | the "Prison Break" star, in Entertainment Weekly
