Just as Gucci and Burberry reworked their looks from old-guard luxury to hot youth commodity, Lacoste has given its iconic crocodile a makeover. The French company's updated preppie look will be available here on Friday when Lacoste opens a new boutique at Ala Moana Center.

The clothes are, as always, all about vibrant colors and classic silhouettes, but the styles have expanded from sweaters and polos to a complete line of sportswear for men and women, including sexy swimwear, swinging mini skirts and fashion-forward separates for men.

The boutique's fresh approach to interior design strikes a balance between sophistication and innovation. Curved walls with recessed fixtures and all-white display units are sure to make the vibrant colors of the clothes pop.
