The next time you have trouble removing a pesky bottle top or jar lid, try this trick from www.thefunplace .com: Wear a pair of rubber gloves or twist a fat rubber band around the lid, then twist it open.

SAVE THE PLANET

PAY ATTENTION TO BATHROOM

Fixing a leaky faucet does more than banish a nighttime annoyance — it helps the environment.

A faucet that drips a drop a second wastes 2,600 gallons of water a year, said authors Wyland (the artist) and Steve Creech in "Hold Your Water! 68 Things You Need to Know to Keep Our Planet Blue."

The simple solution? Low-flow faucet aerators, toilet dams and minor bathroom repairs, which can save a family of four 10,000 to 25,000 gallons of water every year.

FINAL WORD
