Bishop Museum archivist De-Soto Brown sifted through the institution's cache of old photographs to create his new book, "Surfing: Historic Images from Bishop Museum Archives." What better time to pick up a copy than during OceanFest? DeSoto signs copies of the book today at:

  • Outrigger Waikiki, 2335 Kalakaua Avenue, upper lobby, 2 to 3 p.m. slide show presentation and discussion, 3 to 4 p.m. book-signing.
