Do you go to Liliha only to stock up on coco puffs? Today go to Kawananakoa Park (Nu'uanu Avenue between Pauoa and Kuakini streets) 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the third annual I Love Liliha Festival. You can play games, shop, and, of course, grind at food booths.

The festival is also a chance to go walkabout in the historic neighborhood — have a bowlful of saimin at venerable Jane's Fountain, revisit Oahu Cemetery, Honolulu's version of PEre Lachaise, where luminaries such as Duke Kahanamoku and Kamaka 'Ukulele founder Samuel Kamaka are buried. (Along with writer and mythologist Joseph Campbell — who knew?), and stroll through Kunawai Springs Park, which was once an ancient natural healing center.

And you can listen to the Royal Hawaiian Band and watch a lion dance.
