Former University of Hawai'i volleyball standout Lee Ann Satele was a pretty good player in her time. Her daughter, Chanteal, is a pretty good player now.
Satele, a 5-foot-10 junior outside hitter for Word of Life Academy, was named Interscholastic League of Honolulu Division II Player of the Year. She also played right side hitter and middle blocker in helping the Firebrands (14-5) win the school's first varsity league title.
Satele is joined on the ILH's DII first team by two teammates — outside hitter Crystal Powell and setter Shayna Onosai — plus three players from Sacred Hearts: outside hitters Kylee Maneja and Haili Pokipala and middle blocker Tiffany Phillips. St. Andrew's outside hitter Allie Elliazar and La Pietra libero Soniya Liu round out the first team.
Word of Life's Lee Ann Satele was named Coach of the Year.
