Hawaiian Airlines is selling flight gift certificates online, at grocery stores in the Islands and at Safeway stores in the nine destinations served by the airline: Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sacramento, San Jose, San Diego, Portland, Seattle, Phoenix and Las Vegas. The certificates can be purchased online in amounts ranging from $50 to $5,000 and can be e-mailed to purchasers, printed out as presents or e-mailed directly to recipients with a message. CHINA AT SEA

The Bishop Museum's groundbreaking exhibition "Lost Maritime Cultures: China and the Pacific," runs Feb. 24 to April 15. The show explores connections between ancient China and islands in the South Pacific and includes rare cultural treasures on loan from China. Recent genetic discoveries have determined that Southeast China is the original homeland of the Polynesians, Melanesians, Micronesians and the indigenous people in Southeast Asia archipelagos.
