Wie still undecided about SBS tourney

Michelle Wie hasn't officially decided whether to play in the SBS Open at Turtle Bay next month.
The Orlando Sentinel reported yesterday that Wie turned down an LPGA invitation to play in Orlando and that father BJ Wie told tournament representatives that his daughter instead plans to play in both of the LPGA events in Hawai'i.
The LPGA schedule opens with the SBS Open at Turtle Bay Feb. 16 to 18, followed by the Fields Open at Ko Olina from Feb. 23 to 25.
Wie has committed to play in the Fields Open, but has not announced her intention to play in the SBS, where she finished tied for second last year.
BJ Wie did not want to comment on the Orlando Sentinel story.
At this stage, BJ Wie said his daughter is "officially accepted to play only in the Fields Open."
Although a pro, Wie is not a member of the LPGA Tour and can accept only six sponsor exemptions a year.
She used one of her exemption for the Fields, and is expected to use the others on the Kraft Nabisco Championship, the LPGA McDonald's Championship, the Evian Masters in France, and the Samsung World Championship.
That would leave her with one more exemption under the current rules.
