TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE
"Caught in the Moment," 6 p.m., Animal Planet. Wide-eyed and enthusiastic, this series jumps ahead of other nature shows. This second episode, like the first, has warmth and beauty. At first, viewers are caught up in the idealism of young filmmaker Tristan Bayer and naturalist Vanessa Garnick. Soon, we realize they're also good at their work. This week they head to British Columbia in search of the "spirit bear," a sort of white grizzly. They find one, but the journey is more fascinating. We follow the amazing salmon run and the grizzlies waiting to grab dinner along the way.
"How I Met Your Mother," 7:30 and 8:30 p.m., CBS. Here's a two-part rerun that complicated Ted's life with the addition of a new woman. Unable to bring Robin to a wedding, he goes alone. He meets Victoria and wants to learn more about her.
OF NOTE
"The Closer," 6 p.m., TNT. A paparazzo-type photographer seems to have killed himself, jumping from a hotel window. That's the hotel where a celebrity was staying, leaving Brenda to wonder if the photographer was stalking the celeb. Meanwhile, Brenda's boyfriend Fritz is getting calls from a woman who works with him in the FBI.
"Driving Force" debut, 6 and 6:30 p.m., A&E. John Force — yes, that's his real name — is a rather overbearing guy, a drag-racer with an alpha-male personality. Keeping him in check (sometimes) are his wife, Laurie, and their alphabetical daughters, Ashley, Brittany and Courtney. Each is into racing. Tonight, a crash injures Ashley and she tries a comeback. In the second episode, the younger daughters seem more interested in the school dance than in a racing empire.
