Okino-Hilea team top ESPN National Challenge Qualifier

Cyd Okino and Jaclyn Hilea won gross division honors Sunday at the ESPN National Golf Challenge Qualifier at Turtle Bay's Arnold Palmer Course.
Okino, 12, and Hilea, 18, shot a better ball 6-under 66 to claim one of the three spots in the regional finals. Sam Rodriguez III and Haku Maluenda were second at 69 and Sergio Meneses and Abel Soares III were third at 70. All three teams advance to the regional finals, Aug. 27 at Turtle Bay.
In the net division, Clifford Nishikawa and Henry Fujita shot a 61 to win and advance to regionals. Also advancing were William Paik and Dennis Lee (62) and Gerald Sur and Wendell Pacada (66).
