The Queen's Medical Center, several mental health experts and two schools yesterday turned over records related to Adam Mau-Goffredo to city prosecutors to help the prosecution and defense prepare for his trial on murder and armed-robbery charges.
City prosecutors had subpoenaed the records, including documents related to mental health services to the defendant. In addition, prosecutors sought records from the Academy of the Pacific and Kalani High School, two schools Mau-Goffredo attended.
Circuit Judge Dexter Del Rosario said the prosecution must turn over copies of the documents to the defense attorneys.
During the brief hearing, there was no explanation why the records were sought.
But Mau-Goffredo, 23, has been diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic, and it's not unusual for the prosecution and defense to seek medical records and documents related to a defendant with a history of mental problems.
Mau-Goffredo is charged with shooting three people to death at a Tantalus lookout and the home-invasion robbery of a Round Top Drive home before he was arrested later on the night of July 6.
He is being held without bail pending his trial, currently scheduled for the week of Sept. 18 before Del Rosario.
