MICHAEL A. ROSENBERG, president and general manager of KITV 4, was re-elected vice president of the national Muscular Dystrophy Association at its recent annual meeting. This year, KITV 4 — one of about 190 stations nationally slated to broadcast the annual Jerry Lewis MDA Labor Day Telethon Sept. 3-4 — will carry the event for the 12th year. MDA is dedicated to worldwide research, comprehensive services and professional and public health education in the fight against more than 40 neuromuscular diseases. The organization maintains 235 clinics nationwide, including one at Castle Medical Center.
SCOTT MURAKAMI has been promoted to firm associate at PBR Hawaii, a planning and landscape architectural firm. His projects include Kukui'ula, a 1,000-plus acre master planned community on Kaua'i; landscape vision planning for Maui Lani and Makena on Maui; and the landscape renovation of Central Pacific Bank in downtown. Murakami is executive committee secretary for the local chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects.
RONALD VAZQUEZ, a former general manager of P.F. Chang's China Bistro in Chicago, has been named to help launch an outlet in Hawai'i. Vazquez will be responsible for day-to-day operations, hiring, training and customer service for the new restaurant, slated to open in August in the Hokua high-rise luxury residential condominium on Auahi Street. Also, former Chicago-veteran LARKSPUR SANCHEZ has been named culinary partner for the restaurant.
LANCE WILHELM, senior vice president and Hawai'i area manger of national construction firm Kiewit Building Group Inc., has been named to the YMCA of Honolulu board of directors. Wilhelm is a board member and past president of both the Honolulu Executive Association and the General Contractor's Association of Hawaii.
ROBERT G. STEVENS has been named chief operating officer of the local law firm of Goodsill Anderson Quinn & Stifel LLP. In the newly created position, Stevens will oversee day-to-day operations, and lead the firm's management team. Stevens comes to Honolulu after 13 years in Washington state-based private law firms. Also, H. Gregory Nasky has been named partner at the firm, working in the firm's corporate and securities practice area.
Lynne T. Unemori has been named vice president of corporate relations at Hawaiian Electric Co., replacing Chuck Freedman, who has retired. She will oversee internal and external communications for the company.
