Hey, early birds: It's not too late to take part in today's Gift of Life 5K Run & Fun Walk/Run, which benefits the National Kidney Foundation of Hawai'i.

Register — $25 and $40 general, free for kids younger than 12 — at 7 a.m. at the diamondhead end of Ala Moana Beach Park and Magic Island.

Or cheer on your friends and neighbors as they walk and/or run, and then take in the health fair, entertainment, exhibits, food booths, keiki crafts and games, until noon.

Bring bagged clothing and small household items to donate to the kidney foundation's Kidney Clothes program.
