Hawai'i's Wilson in Nelson hunt

IRVING, Texas — Adam Scott shot a 5-under 65 yesterday on the TPC at Las Colinas and shared the first-round lead with Steve Lowery at the Byron Nelson Championship.
Despite a pair of three-putt bogeys in a three-hole stretch, Scott had the best round of the day on the 7,052-yard TPC course after a closing 11-foot birdie putt.
Lowery shot his bogey-free 65 across the street on the easier 6,871-yard Cottonwood Valley layout, where Scott gets to play his second round today.
Bob Estes and Brett Wetterich both had opening 66s at Cottonwood Valley.
Hawai'i's Dean Wilson, who played at Cottonwood Valley, was in a group of 10 at 67.

Michelob Ultra Open: Karrie Webb outplayed playing partners Annika Sorenstam and Cristie Kerr, firing a 5-under 66 for a one-shot lead over Jimin Kang after the first round of the LPGA's Michelob Ultra Open at Williamsburg, Va.
Sorenstam and Kerr were in a group of six at 73 at the 6,306-yard River Course at Kingsmill.
British Masters: Darren Clarke and Peter Hanson each shot 6-under 66 at The Belfry to share the lead after the first round of the British Masters at Sutton Coldfield, England.
U.S. Open champion Michael Campbell shot 67, sharing third place with Paul Casey and Jarmo Sandelin at the 7,163-yard layout.
