Barracuda was sight to see

 •  Proposed league hopes to boost play in Hawai'i

"The fish made some spectacular jumps and runs before being subdued," said Serafin Jaena, Avery's father. Avery used "live kupipi rigged with light wire leader on spinning gear." Fishing partner Glen Muranaka helped Avery bring in the catch. Avery is currently deployed as a member of the Hawai'i Air National Guard in Iceland, where the weather is cold (30s), but the fishing is good. "He said (Hawai'i) is not even close to what they have over there," said Serafin, who said he's expecting more fishing pictures when Avery returns home.
