ALVIN, GUILTY MEN IN TWO

Dave Alvin, singer/songwriter and founding member of 1980s cult fave The Blasters, returns for a pair of concerts on two islands with his band The Guilty Men.

The concerts are at 9 p.m. Dec. 1 at Hapa's on Maui; and at 9 p.m. Dec. 2 at the Hawaiian Hut on O'ahu. More details to come.

SUSHI AND SAKE BENEFIT

The Hawai'i chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association will hold its third annual Sushi and Sake Night fundraiser from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 12 at Osake Sushi Bar and Lounge.

Proceeds from the event, which features all-you-can-eat sushi and house specialty sake plus a silent auction, go toward scholarships/internships/educational opportunities for journalism students and professionals.

Tickets are $50 each, $45 for AAJA members. For more information, call 535-2456.

'MCDERMOTT IN MOTION'
