Advertiser Staff

Ko Olina Resort & Marina will sponsor 4,000 meals for homeless, needy and single-parent families Saturday at 13 Leeward O'ahu church locations.

As part of the eighth annual Ko Olina Thanksgiving Outreach, the resort will prepare 2,700 pounds of turkey, 750 pounds of ham, 600 pounds of rice, 100 gallons of gravy, 400 pounds of corn, 4,000 rolls and pumpkin deserts.

"I wish we could do this every day of the year," said Jeff Stone, president of Ko Olina Resort & Marina.

Meals will be served at 11 a.m. at church locations in Wai'anae, Ma'ili, Nanakuli, Makakilo, Kapolei, 'Ewa Beach, 'Ewa, Waipahu and Pearl City. Entertainment is planned for each site.

Ko Olina will provide tents and United Parcel Service will volunteer trucks and drivers to make food deliveries.
