Cal State-Stanislaus may have finished tied for second at the Mauna Lani Resort/University of Hawai'i-Hilo Intercollegiate Championship in October, but two Warriors came away with something to brag about.
Senior Matt Hollinsead and junior Andy Moren aced the same hole (No. 17, 132 yards) on Oct. 30, the first day of the tournament.
Moren, of Turlock, Calif., got the first ace using a wedge. Hollinsead, of Sacramento, Calif., also used a wedge to ace the hole.
Moren finished his round at even-par 72, and Hollinsead shot a 73.
"This is the first time that I've ever seen two students shoot a hole-in-one in a single tournament round at Mauna Lani, not to mention on the same hole," said Dennis Rose, Mauna Lani Resort's director of golf.
