On Friday, the Las Vegas Playboy Club opens in the new Fantasy Tower at the Palms, the first since the last Playboy Club closed 16 years ago. Escalators connect the main club to the Italian restaurant, Nove Italiano, below and the Moon nightclub, with its retractable roof, above. Glass and mirrors are focal to the decor — the Diamond Bar is made from 10,000 diamond-shaped crystals. Hours will be 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. nightly. Cover charges are expected to range from $20 to $50.
NEW WATER PARK: Plans have been announced for "Las Vegas Wet." Slated for 100 acres of land near the Strip, the park will occupy more than 30 acres, indoor and outdoor, with additional plans for a snow dome for indoor skiing, two hotels, a casino and events center.
OKTOBERFEST: Oktoberfest celebrations will be held throughout Las Vegas this month and The Hofbrauhaus is party central.
SPLASH SPLISHES: After 21 years at the Riviera, the aquatic-themed show "Splash" closed abruptly. No replacement plans have been announced.
Q. What happened to plans for the Fontainebleau casino?
A. A vote on zoning was postponed due to concerns about traffic flow around the 3,000-room hotel-casino.
