A short "elevator pitch" — what an new entrepreneur would say to a prospective investor if they found themselves together briefly in an elevator — and a "speed dating" session between them and some actual local investors, are among events planned at a HAWAI'I VENTURE SHOWCASE, scheduled by the Hawai'i Venture Capital Association Thursday. A panel discussion of "What Grows, What Flows, What Burns?" will be among events planned as part of the HAWAI'I AGRICULTURE BIOENERGY WORKSHOP, 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday, at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. The conference will explore not only legislative mandates to expand the state's possibility of "growing" our fuels, but also how to increase markets and opportunities for the local production of ethanol, bio-diesel and bio-power. The latest energy-efficiency technologies and resources — and the financing options to afford them — will be among topics at a workshop Wednesday, sponsored by Hawaii Energy Alliance.
