ISLAND LIFE SHORTS
Be a master of disguise for Halloween this year

Advertiser Staff and News Services

Sexy cats are soooo tired. This Halloween, why not look to the stage for inspiration?

Diamond Head Theatre, 520 Makapu'u Ave., can disguise you as, say, a Captain Hook pirate, the King of Siam or a thoroughly modern Millie — in adult sizes only. The theater's shop is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Wednesday (except Sunday).

The Costume Shop is at the back of theater. 733-0277, ext. 2.

ONE NIGHT OF POETRY, DRAMA AND MUSIC

Local slam poetry scenesters Candice Dayoan, Theresa Falk and Katana join forces for their debut collaborative performance, "Justaposition," at 7 p.m. tomorrow at rRed Elephant, 1144 Bethel St.

Between the three of them is a lot of film, theater, rock 'n' roll and poetry experience — the show promises to be a premium blend. Bonus: No cover.

Information: www.myspace.com/justaposition.

FINAL WORD

"Everyone is looking for who's the hero that is going to get us out of what we're in now. I heard somebody on the radio the other day ... saying 'Oh, where's the new General Patton?' ... Well, that era's gone."

Clint Eastwood | in Time magazine
