Former judge keynote speaker

Thomas Kaulukukui Jr., trustee of the Queen Li-li'uokalani Trust and former Circuit Court judge, will be the keynote speaker at the installation of officers and the board of directors of the Native Hawaiian Chamber of Commerce next week.
The event will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Sept. 15 at Washington Place. Pupus and beverages will be served.

TOWER GRILL OPENS TUESDAY
Local restaurateur Fred Livingston is set to open his newest restaurant, The Tower Grill, on Tuesday.
It will be the second restaurant for Livingston at the Aloha Tower Marketplace, where he also owns Don Ho's Island Grill. Livingston previously owned Sunset Grill, Crouching Lion Inn, Trattoria Italian Restaurant, Davey Jones Ribs, Tahitian Lanai and Matteo's Italian Restaurant.
The Tower Grill will feature a Hawaiian plantation theme with floor-to-ceiling windows, pastel colors and an outdoor wrap-around lanai. The weekend brunch menu will feature items from the former Tahitian Lanai Restaurant.
GM'S FLEET TO BE MORE 'FLEXIBLE'
DETROIT — General Motors Corp. is planning a flexible portfolio of cars and trucks that will change with market demand and the price of gasoline, GM Chairman and CEO Rick Wagoner said yesterday.
Speaking to reporters at the company's downtown Detroit headquarters, Wagoner said GM plans to change the mix of vehicles it offers based on gas prices ranging from $2 to $5 per gallon.
"I think the hard part is not the $2 scenario. I think the hard part is the $5 scenario or the $4.50 scenario," Wagoner said.
