New York's Slanty Eyed Mama performs at GiRL FeST today.

The 3rd annual GiRL FeST Hawaii festival is in full swing. Check out The Sexy Smart Party, 8 p.m. today at the rRed Elephant, 1144 Bethel St.

Comic Ali Wong from San Francisco hosts a bash that includes:

Local bands X-Factor and The Malcognitas.

The provocatively named duo Slanty Eyed Mama, from New York, offering some Asian-American counterculture flow.

Slam poets Rachel Kann and Bridget Gray.

The band United By Sound, which fuses electro, crunk, bluegrass, rock and ragga for a sound all its own.

Admission is $10 for the all-ages party. GiRL FeST's aim is to prevent violence against girls and women through arts and education. The festival continues through Sept. 17. Full schedule at www.girlfesthawaii.org.
