GOING VEGAS By

With much of the credit for poker's meteoric rise attributable to its popularity on cable television, another casino game is poised to appear on an even bigger stage. The "Ultimate Blackjack Tour" makes its debut Saturday on CBS, matching luminaries from both blackjack and poker in "Elimination Blackjack" tournaments. The Elimination style resembles poker in that players are systematically expelled from the tables until a winner is determined (usually) in heads-up action. Secret bets add an element of bluffing, and similar to the poker shows, the TV audience can see the dealer's hole cards.
The public can play for a seat on TV by qualifying in a casino-based tour event or in free-to-play online tournaments at www.PlayUBT.com.
New Clubs: CBGB, the legendary New York music venue, is moving to downtown Las Vegas. It will bring along its doors, doorknobs, toilets and whatever else is necessary to recreate itself.
Also coming to town is Dick's Last Resort, scheduled to open at Excalibur early next year.
September special: The Orleans is running a special on its dinner buffet. Dinner is $7 every Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday in September, down from the regular $12.95 price.
