YULE LOG: Keali'i Reichel isn't the only one launching a new Christmas CD this year. The Brothers Cazimero's "Caz Christmas," due Oct. 24, lists 14 titles, including a newbie ("8 Tiny Reindeer") penned by Roland Cazimero and Chucky Boy Chock, and a pair of Robert Cazimero originals ("Go to the Light," previously recorded, and "Angels Bear Gifts"). Some songs have been part of earlier Caz concerts but are newly recorded, including "I Love Christmas (Aloha Kalikimaka)," "The Merriest Hawaiian Christmas," "Up on the Housetop," "Sleigh Ride" and "Carol of the Bells." Expect to hear a parcel in "A Cazimero Christmas" — the return of the duo's holiday blockbuster — at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 21-23 at the Hawai'i Theatre. Haul out the tinsel — and gear up for the yuletide. ...

Sorry to report the death on Sept. 14 of Arlene Tanaka, a veteran entertainment behind-the-scener, at Kaiser Permanente Moanalua Medical Center. She was best known as Danny Kaleikini's longtime secretary in the Kahala Hilton heyday, a pal of magician David Copperfield since his Pagoda Hotel debut era and a jill-of-all-trades for The Reycards (the Philippines and Las Vegas favorites) whenever they played Hawai'i. Per her wish, private family services are scheduled here, with her remains scattered here and possibly in Las Vegas, her favorite destination. Notes of condolences may be sent to the Tanaka Family, P.O. Box 3496, Honolulu, HI 96811-3496. ...
