Hickam Kukini, a base publication of Hickam Air Force Base, has been selected the Air Force's best metro-format newspaper in the 51st Air Force Media Contest.

The judges called the publication a "nice newspaper with good variety of coverage."

Col. JJ Torres, commander of the 15th Airlift Wing at Hickam, said, "Our goal is to provide an exciting and informative base newspaper. I think we got it right."
