Fifth Circuit Judge Kathleen Watanabe yesterday sentenced Byron Say, 38, of Hanalei, to consecutive 20-year and five-year sentences.
In June 2005, Say was arrested in Hanalei in possession of a foil packet of heroin, which led to the five-year sentence on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
In March 2006, in an arrest in Kapa'a, police found an ice pipe in the patrol car in which he'd been sitting, and on searching his vehicle, found 33.44 grams of methamphetamine, said deputy prosecutor Christopher Bridges.
That led to the 20-year sentence for possession of a dangerous drug.
