Green drinks aren't just for St. Paddy's Day anymore, thanks to a new eco-networking event that takes place on the first Tuesday of each month.
Green Drinks (www.greendrinks.org) is an international organization with more than 200 chapters worldwide. Laurens Laudowicz of Asian antiques and interior decorating firm Buddhawelt started a local chapter, Honolulu Green Drinks, after finding out about the organization in his native Germany. Says Laudowicz, "It didn't seem right that out of so many cities worldwide, Honolulu wasn't represented."
At the informal monthly gatherings, green-minded people mingle and discuss environmental issues while knocking back organic cocktails and pupu.
This month's meetup happens from 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at E&O Trading Co. in Ward Center. For more information, write greendrinks@buddhawelt.com.

ORGANIC FASHION WITH A MESSAGE
"Do Something." "Clean Your Beach." "I Heart Clean Air." You can be a walking message of environmental friendliness with the new "Every Little Bit Counts" tees and totes at Quiksilver and Roxy stores across America.
Certified organic cotton is used where possible with the totes, and in each of the tees. And here's another plus: 3 percent of every organic T-shirt purchased goes to the Quiksilver Foundation (www.quiksilverfoundation.org), a nonprofit organization that supports environmental education.
Big change doesn't happen overnight; this line is a small, but cute, start.
