Dowling Co. Inc., a Maui-based real estate development company and leader in the "green building" movement, has pledged $250,000 to the Hawai'i Nature Center in 'Iao Valley.

The gift will be contributed in $25,000 annual installments over 10 years.

"Thinking green is no longer a fad; it is becoming an integral part of our lives and is critical to Maui," said company president Everett Dowling. "The Hawai'i Nature Center is an exemplary organization that speaks to that mission."

The Hawai'i Nature Center promotes stewardship and appreciation and understanding of the Islands' natural environment.
