A 37-year-old woman was in critical condition last night after her motorcycle hit a car on Kalaniana'ole Highway near the Makapu'u lookout.
Police said the woman, driving a 2005 Kawasaki motorcycle, was headed east-bound on the highway about 8 a.m. when her bike veered into the on-coming lane of traffic and struck a car driven by a 35-year-old woman.
The motorcyclist fell to the ground and suffered injuries to her head and shoulder. She was not wearing a helmet, police said. She was taken to The Queen's Medical Center in critical condition.
The driver of the car, who was wearing a seat belt, was not injured. Police said weather and alcohol did not appear to be factors in the crash.
