WAIMEA
Valley study to be discussed

Advertiser Staff

Residents can learn more about the traditional cultural aspects of Waimea Valley from the man who conducted a study there. Christopher Monahan, president and principal investigator for TCP Hawai'i, will discuss his findings at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Waimea Valley Audubon Center.

The study was done for the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, which owns the property.

Monahan has served as the O'ahu lead archaeologist for the state Historic Preservation Division, a forensic expert and a university lecturer. He has completed a similar study for Kane'ikapualena in Wai'anae.

The lecture is free.
