Okinawan fest parade today

The Okinawan Festival 2007 parade today through Waikiki will begin at 5:30 p.m. More than 1,000 participants will march from Fort De-Russy to Kapi'olani Park.

The festival's opening ceremony will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the park.

The two-day festival, sponsored by the Hawaii United Okinawan Association, runs from 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. tomorrow and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at Kapi'olani Park.

It will feature entertainment, Okinawan foods and crafts, and activities for all ages. The state's largest bon dance will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. tomorrow.
