A breakup has never been easier. All that's required is a simple zip — no traumas attached.
It's the Breakup Makeup hoodie from Hurley, right. Hurley's design director, Jenna Wilson, tells us the idea came about through "lots of brainstorming and a true collaborative effort" within the design team. The fleece and cotton jersey hoodie zips all the way up the back, making it possible to mix and match halves. The idea is that friends will trade sides to create new looks: stripes and polka dots, solids and stars or whatevahs. They can even blog about where their hoodie halves have been (www.hurley.com).
The hoodie, which comes in five styles, sells for $68 at T&C in Kahala, Ala Moana, Windward Mall and Pearlridge, as well as at HIC, Blue Hawaii and Local Motion stores.

SNIF-FING OUT THE ACTION
The matchbook-size SNIF Tag isn't just a fashion statement. Its motion-sensing circuitry can tell an owner whether Foofy is walking, running, snoozing or even playing with a fellow SNIF-wearing friend — provided it is within 80 feet of the base station. By logging on to the Web site, you can check in on your dog's activity (but, unlike global-positioning systems, you won't be able to pinpoint his location). This will let you verify if, say, the dog walker is doing her job, but that's not the tag's main purpose, anyway: It is, according to the Web site, "a real-time device interfacing with online social networking." In other words, maybe there's a play date in it for your dog — or maybe a date for you.
The company plans beta-tests in Boston and New York next month; to volunteer, go to www.sniflabs.com.

ALL-NATURAL BEAUTY
Blueberries, rose hip, lime, apricots, yams, cherries, peaches and garlic may sound like a recipe for a food dish, but these are some of the ingredients found in the Eminence Organic Products at the Zen Spa and Medical Offices. Eminence Organic uses active, live produce to create cleansers, peels, masks, serums, body scrubs and toners.
"My favorite product is the yam and pumpkin enzyme peel. It brightens, lightens and tightens your face so you have a nice glow," says aesthetician Kapua Auai-Paulos. "Another popular product is the Sun Defense, it's made of minerals that block UV waves, is an SPF 30 waterproof, and has a tinge of color." If you're searching for a Christmas gift, a gift certificate to the full-service spa just might be what you're looking for.
Zen Spa and Medical Offices: Restaurant Row, Building 7, 500 Ala Moana Blvd., Suite 230; open 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Mondays-Fridays and 9 a.m.-noon Saturdays; by appointment only; 536-9637.

ART OF WAR
Long before modern-day organizations began fighting to keep the arts alive, there was the dramatic rescue of European art treasures during the Third Reich. "The Rape of Europa," which opens today, is the ultimate tale of loss and redemption: For 12 years leading up to and including World War II, Nazis stole and destroyed all art they deemed "inappropriate," which included an estimated one-fifth of all the known artworks in Europe. This Oscar-nominated documentary chronicles the systematic theft, destruction and survival of Europe's art treasures. In a journey that spans seven countries, viewers get a glimpse of the turbulent events that threatened to destroy the artistic heritage of Europe, and the heroic efforts that stopped this from happening.
"The Rape of Europa," Doris Duke Theatre, 1 and 7:30 p.m. today and Tuesday through Saturday, and 7:30 p.m. tomorrow.

KILLER 'THRILLER'
Commemorating the 25th anniversary of "Thriller," Michael Jackson and his record label, Epic/Legacy Recordings, are preparing a newly expanded edition of the R&B-pop classic.
The CD and DVD package will hit stores on Feb. 12 and include music videos, Jackson's landmark 1983 performance on the NBC special "Motown 25: Yesterday, Today, Forever" and rare and unreleased material from the "Thriller" era.
The collection also will feature remixes by Kanye West ("Billie Jean") and will.i.am of Black Eyed Peas ("P.Y.T.," "The Girl Is Mine"), while Akon and will.i.am are featured on a new recording of "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'." Jackson also has gone back and remastered the track "For All Time," which was recorded during the "Thriller" sessions but left off that album.
"Thriller" is the second-best selling album in U.S. history, trailing only an Eagles greatest-hits album.
