The end of the year is a good time to take stock. Real Simple magazine is taking a stab at people's guilt. Here are their strategies:
First, talk it out with an impartial friend; something that seems terrible to you may no longer feel so horrendous. Next, make amends. If you've done something you truly regret, try to remedy the situation. Other tips: Take a reality check; give yourself credit; exercise it out (sweat is always a good reset button).

SAVE THE PLANET
USE LESS WATER WHEN YOU SHOWER
Nearly 25 percent of the water used at home comes from showers, which use 4 to 6 gallons per minute if you're using a standard water head. There's myriad ways to cut down water use: use a low-flow shower head (saves 1.5 to 2 gallons per minute) and cut the time to five-minute showers (save an extra 4,200 gallons). That's from "True Green: 100 Everyday Ways You Can Contribute to a Healthier Planet."

FINAL WORD
"2007 is the greatest year for me. Obviously, I had a great season racing. I wasn't the champion, but I had a good time. And coming to 'Dancing with the Stars,' I took a huge step in life."
Helio Castroneves | who won "Dancing with the Stars" with dancer Julianne Hough
