Super Bowl HDTV link available

Advertiser Staff

Time Warner Oceanic Cable said yesterday that customers who want to watch tomorrow's Super Bowl in high definition can still pick up HD set-top boxes needed to catch the broadcast.

Oceanic said it will have normal Saturday office hours of 8 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. for customers wanting the special boxes. Digital cable customers can install the boxes on their home HDTVs themselves, said Alan Pollock, vice president of marketing for Oceanic.

To see the game high-definition broadcast by KGMB, Oceanic customers will have to pay an additional fee of $6.95 a month.

Pollock said there was a small increase in customers seeking the boxes yesterday, but "we don't see at this point us running out of boxes."

Availability of the game in HDTV to Oceanic customers had been in question because of a dispute between KGMB and Oceanic. However the two sides temporarily set aside their differences Thursday so the cable company could carry the most popular U.S. sporting event of the year in high definition.
