Hawai'i women's basketball coach Jim Bolla will undergo an undisclosed medical procedure tomorrow and will take a leave of absence to recuperate.
UH made the announcement in a prepared statement following the Rainbow Wahine's 74-72 victory over Nevada at Stan Sheriff Center.
Associate head coach Pat Charity will serve as interim head coach.
"This is something that came up unexpectedly, and on the advice of doctors, I'm choosing to take care of it immediately," Bolla said in a statement. "I have full confidence in Pat and my staff to carry on in my absence."
Bolla is 38-37 in his third season as Rainbow Wahine coach.
Charity has served as Bolla's assistant since July 2004. She served as head coach at Western Michigan from 1990-97.
