TONIGHT'S MUST-SEE

"Survivor: Fiji" debut, 7 p.m., CBS. This show has put together perhaps its most diverse cast yet. There are contestants born in Borneo, Colombia, Hong Kong, Puerto Rico and Venezuela, plus two from South Korea. Others have lived overseas. Liliana got permission from her family to spend a year in Mexico at 11. She was also a Marine in Iraq. Gary was a soldier in Vietnam and spent two years in Australia when his wife was in a teacher-exchange program. Then there are people with their U.S. struggles. As a boy Dre was homeless in Wilmington, N.C.; as a young woman, Erica left New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. There's also variety in age. The youngest person is Michelle Yi, 23, finishing her fashion degree at the University of Cincinnati. The oldest are Sylvia, 52, an architect; Yau-Man, 54, a computer engineer; and Gary, 55, a school bus driver and former barber. These 19 people will be in relative comfort for a few days. Then a challenge round will send half to a sparser setting.

"Ugly Betty," 7 p.m., ABC. In the aftermath of the magazine's Fashion Week chaos, Betty tries to soothe feelings.

"My Name is Earl," 7 p.m., NBC. Joy discovers she has a half-sister. Unfortunately, it's her lifelong enemy, Liberty Washington. Right now, Liberty is on Earl's must-help list — she's trying to get into a wrestling league.

"The Office," 7:30 p.m., NBC. Last week, Michael botched Phyllis' wedding shower. Now he can fail again at the wedding. Also, Pam flashes back to her former wedding preparations and Dwight puts himself in charge of stopping crashers.

"Scrubs," 8 p.m., NBC. The gang plans a road trip to Tacoma where Kim's ultrasound will offer the first glimpses of the baby she and J.T. are having.

"CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," 8 p.m., CBS. As Grissom returns from his brief hiatus he learns that his temporary replacement Keppler (Liev Schreiber) has stirred discontent. Tonight, Keppler adds to problems by not disclosing that he was a close friend of a murder victim.

"The O.C.," 8 p.m., Fox. Ryan plans Taylor's birthday party but there are bigger problems ahead. That includes an earthquake and the end of the series.

"Grey's Anatomy," 8 p.m., ABC. This starts a three-week story in which the interns face some steep challenges.

"30 Rock," 8:30 p.m., NBC. An all-nighter is needed to get the show ready. Meanwhile, Jack finalizes his divorce, and Kenneth the Page may link with Cerie.

"ER," 9 p.m., NBC. Freddy Rodriguez ("Six Feet Under") guests as an obnoxious comedian with an elusive ailment.

"Shark," 9 p.m., CBS. A popular young actress is killed when her car is forced off a cliff.
