Menlo College (Atherton, Calif.) junior guard Kepua Lee became the first player in the women's basketball program to surpass 1,000 points in a career.
Lee, a 2004 Moanalua graduate from Honolulu, did it in a game against Willamette Dec. 29. She scored 28 points in the 47-31 win in the Peninsula Hoops Classic, where she was the tournament's MVP.
Lee scored 23 points against Lewis & Clark the following night, 20 against Cal State East Bay Thursday and 10 against Cal State Maritime Academy Saturday to bring her career total to 1078 points. She also holds school records for most field goals made (423) and attempted (990), and needs 100 rebounds to break the career school record of 530.
"She is simply the best player we've had in this program to date and the amazing thing is that she sets the example with her work ethic and attitude every day," said Menlo head coach Caitlin Collier in a release.
