The City Council will hold a public hearing at 2 p.m. today on a developer's request to change the zoning to allow him to build up to 90 feet, or 10 stories.

Hale Alii, a 297-unit condominium, is being proposed for the 3.8-acre site next to The O'ahu Club on Hawai'i Kai Drive.

If the City Council approves the change in zoning, the measure will go back before the council Zoning Committee for another hearing July 31 and then back to the City Council for final approval.
