HAWAI'I KAI
Condo height bid advances

Advertiser Staff

A developer's plan to build a condominium as high as 10 stories cleared another hurdle yesterday afternoon as the City Council gave its approval for a 297-unit condominium in Hawai'i Kai.

Hale Ali'i is proposed for the 3.8-acre plot of land next to the O'ahu Club and the Moana Kai townhomes. The developer agreed to increase the rear yard setback to 24 feet between the building he proposes and the existing 40-feet Moana Kai townhomes.

The measure will go back to the council Zoning Committee for another hearing, which could be as early as July 31, before going back to the City Council for final approval.
