KARIN L. HOLMA, a partner in the law firm of Bays, Deaver, Lung, Rose & Holma since 1999, has had her name added to the firm name — now Bays, Deaver, Lung, Rose & Holma. Her name replaces that of partner Jason Baba, who died five years ago. Holma, listed among the compilation, Best Lawyers in America in Construction Law, is also chair of the city Planning Commission and a director of the Building Industry Association of Hawai'i.
Young Brothers Ltd./Hawaiian Tug & Barge has named Matthew "Matt" Humphrey vice president and general manager, taking the place of Vicente "Vic" Salas Angoco Jr., who relocated to Guam. Humphrey will be in charge of all maritime operations and safety, risk and environmental management. Most recently, he was project manager with APM Terminals Pacific (Maersk) at the Port of Los Angeles, Calif. and before that, director of operations analysis for Targus Group International, a worldwide manufacturing company based in California.
St. Francis Healthcare System of Hawai'i has named Sister William Marie Eleniki president of two subsidiaries: St. Francis Healthcare Foundation of Hawai'i and St. Francis Residential Care Community. New responsibilities will include foundation fundraising and community education, and, as part of the second subsidiary, overseeing development of a 23-acre residential community of senior apartment rentals, home ownership opportunities, and a "Stay Healthy at Home Health and Wellness" Program. She succeeds Eugene N. Tiwanak, who retired in January after 30 years. The longtime educator has been principal at St. Michael's School, Waialua, since 1992. She has also served as secretary on the St. Francis Healthcare System board and, since 1990, was member — and one-time chair — of the St. Francis Medical Center-West board. She has also served as principal and preschool director of Our Lady of Good Counsel; and vice principal at St. Joseph Elementary School in Hilo.
YVONNE YANAGIHARA GOSS has been named retail sales manager for Hawaiian Telcom, managing its eight retail stores statewide. The wireless industry veteran was previously Hawai'i regional director for T-Mobile USA. Goss is also known in the community as a professional entertainer, with many singing and dancing roles in productions by Diamond Head Theatre and 'Ohi'a Productions.
Realtor MARGARET MURCHIE has been named to the 2007 board of directors of the Hawai'i Economic Association, local chapter of the National Association for Business Economics. She is a Realtor and vice president in the Kahala office of Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties.
Maui Land & Pineapple Co. Inc. has named Karee Carlucci communications manager, handling the firm's internal and external communications. The longtime Lahaina resident most recently was executive director of LahainaTown Action Committee. Her career has included ownership of The Write Media, a media relations and Maui travel destination marketing firm.
Ilse Harley, most recently director of rooms at the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea, has been named resort manager for the 243-room, AAA Five Diamond Four Seasons Resort Hualalai on the Big Island's Kona Coast. She will be responsible for day-to-day resort operations, including the rooms, food and beverage, and engineering divisions. The 19-year hospitality industry veteran has spent 15 years with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. The 36 Hualalai low-rise ocean view bungalows are part of a master-planned 865-acre beachside resort in Kona.
Outrigger Enterprises Group has named Robin Graf general manager of The Wyland Waikiki. The 17-year industry veteran will oversee all operational aspects of the newly renovated 405-room hotel. Most recently, Graf was general manager of the Park Shore Waikiki.
