Edmond "Ed" Renaud has been named deputy county engineer effective Aug. 1, replacing Kylan Dela Cruz, who became deputy director of the Department of Parks and Recreation.

Renaud, who holds a master's degree in construction engineering, most recently has headed the county's Roads Division.

"I was pleasantly surprised when Ed asked to be considered to serve as my deputy," said County Engineer Ron Fujimoto.

"In his current position as superintendent of our Roads Division, he has had a tremendous impact on the quantity and quality of projects undertaken by the division."
